"Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you. But you decide what you are..." The first year BA students of our college bagged the second prize in COOPERATE WALK conducted by the Rajagiri business school Kakkanad. A fashion show is an ensemble of creative ideas, right from ramp, lighting, and décor, to models and clothing. Success of a fashion show depends on whether it is able to spark the imagination of audience, and convince them to buy those clothes. Taking ethnic as the theme, Our xaverians..held our college up with pride.

Kochi Biennale 2k16. Kochi Biennale is India's largest contemporary art exhibition held every two years in Fort kochi.

Drama is life with the dull bits cut out and when it is placed perfectly on the reels, a movie is born. The mirage of inception of an idea, be it a fantasy or an everyday routine, within a few minutes of visual indulgence takes a whole lot more than facing the camera lenses. It is the result of a well formulated sequence of activities and human effort, where everyone involved hold the stakes and credits. Here are some behind the screen moments of the film makers of 2nd year BA Communicative English rendering a melange of intellectual and visual muse.

The inauguration of Xav Virtuoso 2k16 — the annual intercollegiate cultural fest conducted at St. Xavier's College, Aluva — took place in presence of the young actor, Neeraj Madhav and our very own starlet, Honey Rose. Considered to be one of the most prestigious inter-college events in the state,which is organised by the final year students of BA Communicative English department,has always been a sight to behold for any college-going student. Held on from August 25 to 26, the festival saw a footfall of over 800 students from colleges across Ernakulam this year. XAV VIRTUOSO 2k16 was a grand success and left a lasting impression on all attendees.

Food plays a vital role in celebrating Ramadan. Students of St.Xavier's College organised Ramadan food fest on July 11th 2016 with special dishes and drinks served during the Muslim fasting month.

The flaws are concealed, the shots are merged and the film is refined for the screen. But, as the movie is perfected we sometimes forget that it is the work of cameramen, editors,artists and director brimming with passion and desire. When the cameras stop rolling, every person behind the scene celebrate the movie production and looks forward to the end product. The final year students of BA communicative English showcases the photos of actors captured behind the scenes in their cinematic avatar.

Xav Virtuoso 2k16 logo is finally lauched by Mollywood Actress Honey Rose. Coming to you on August 25th nd 26th.

XAV VOICE

The very first edition of the college tabloid Xav Voice was released in 2015 in the month of August by the Communicative English Department. Xav Voice is a quarterly campus tabloid. For the students, this is a chance to show case their writing skills. The budding talents of the students are brought to limelight through this tabloid and thus nothing goes unnoticed. College news, editorial, students corner are the various sections in this four page newspaper. Advertisements are also published here.This has become so popular among the students and the quarterly edition is actually worth the wait.

RADIO XAV

                                              

          Introduced in the year 2015,  Radio Xav is the campus radio run by the students of Communicative English. It is operated with the aim of broadcasting educational and  cultural activities of the week.It goes on air every thursday at 12 noon. Every programme would be based on the most popular topic of that particular week.Students can wish their friends on their birthdays and also suggest to play their favourite songs.

This programme was initiated by the faculty of English Department and has become a major success under their guidance.

XAV VIRTUOSO

As a part of the co- curricular activities, the 3^rd BA communicative English students of St.Xavier's College for Women, Aluva; proudly presents 'Xav Virtuoso 2015' a carnival to revel and a feast to relish on. 'XAV' hails from the name of our college and 'VIRTUOSO' means a person skilled in any art or music. Thus, the aim of creating a platform for the youth to explore their inner passions and set the stage ablaze. This inter collegiate event in the previous years has been graced by the presence of legends of film industry and dignitaries from other walks of life.
